For Rick Heutmaker, there’s nothing quite like watching the moment when a student solves a problem on their own.
“When I see the light go on in their heads and hear, ‘I get it,’ I can celebrate with them,” Heutmaker said. “I work hard to foster critical-thinking skills, and it’s rewarding to watch students work through the process and find a solution.”
Heutmaker teaches the Power Sports Technician program at Northwood Technical College’s New Richmond campus and will begin his fourth year as an instructor this fall. After spending his career working with engines and electric motors, he now prepares students for careers in a growing, high-demand industry.
